"Great Russian Elders." Archimandrite Gennady (in schema Gregory) (1911–1987).
A ninety-year-old nun once came to the elder and said, "I have never experienced the carnal passion in my life." The elder replied, "Wait, you will." Some time later, the nun came to him in tears, in despair: "Father, save me! I am perishing, burning as if in fire." The elder began to pray, and the temptation passed. "Never boast, remember: you should not boast of your virtues," the elder said.
